UPVC Replacement Door Handles
The handles on your doors are worn out over time and will need to be replaced. It is crucial to keep the same dimensions as the old handles when replacing them.
The top screw position, the lever and the keyhole dimensions are the three measurements you need to determine. Use upvc door handle to assistance in this.
Inline Lever/Lever
A lever/lever handle is a contemporary door handle designed to suit new or replacement doors. This kind door handle is offered in a variety of styles and finishes. This handle is offered by several manufacturers, including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The handles made of uPVC/Composite are made from durable materials, and are perfect for multi-point lock doors that require a robust design. The handles are inline, and they utilize the same spindle and screws to fix them. They can be easily mounted on a new or existing uPVC/Composite door.
The handle can be placed and angled to fit the needs of all users. The handle has been endurance tested to 200,000 cycles, this helps to ensure the quality of the finish and performance of the handle over time. The lever that is sprung can be shortened to fit a wider range of locks. This is especially useful in doors with smaller door frames where the cylinder is located further back. A shorter lever can be used for doors that have a latch that can be opened by the thumb located on the inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles commonly found on doors. These handles can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are typically employed on UPVC double-glazed doors and come in many variations & finishes.
The handles have been tested to at least 200,000 cycles and are available in several finishes, including White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish is in line with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for its intended use.
All UPVC lever pads for handles include a spindle and screws, and can be fitted on the uPVC door. The backplate fixing centres of 211mm allow for a larger handle, which is often a benefit when replacing a damaged or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers come with springs, which eliminate the problem of handles for doors that slide out of horizontal position when not being used.
When choosing the replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is crucial to match the PZ dimensions of the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement is also referred to as the 'handle centre' or 'cylinder centres' and is a critical aspect to match the right handles.
When you have the right PZ size, you'll need to ensure that the lever pads and push pads are in a suitable shape for the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compatible handles you need for your doors. They are typically round or square with an internal lever and an external push pad.
The majority of the UPVC Lever Pads that we offer are sprung. This means they can be reverted to a horizontal position when not being used instead of hanging and possibly sticking in the frame. This helps prevent the draughts and cold air from entering a property. You will also find that the majority of the UPVC lever pad handles are handed which allows you to place them on either side of the door.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are typically used on uPVC doors, but they can also be found on other types of doors. The cylinder lock is operated by using a key that unlocks the cylinder's case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned to the pins in the lock and allow them to turn the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with external and internal doors typically requiring different levels of security.
The choice of cylinder is essential. It depends on the amount of use your doors and handles receive. External doors, for example should be equipped with higher security cylinders and internal doors can be secured with the standard cylinder. In addition, some cylinders have extra features which can enhance security further, such as anti-drill and anti-bump characteristics.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn if there is one. If you are unable to measure using the lock in a fixed position, you can remove it. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon might be susceptible to attacks like lock snapping, so it is important to make sure it's not too long.
The majority of modern cylinders have been made with anti-drill and bump resistance features included in their design. These are designed to reduce attacks by forcing cylinders to turn in a new direction. This will help to deflect attacks and protect your door.
There are cylinders that have been constructed to resist snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A special tool is used to break the break line of the lock and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is faster and less difficult than opening the door with multipoint locks and leaves little evidence of a burglary, which could hinder the insurance claim.
Spring Cassette
This spring cassette sits in the base of your door handle backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution and returning the multipoint lock handles back to their original position after usage. In the past, a lot of handles of this kind did not have a spring built into them and without this they can droop or drop once the locking mechanism is removed. This simple component is the most effective way to fix this problem. It also stops your door from becoming stuck in either the closed or open position since they aren't easy to close manually.
These spring cassettes are specifically made for use with multipoint locks that are sprung, they will not fit multipoint handles that are not sprung and you must have a custom hole cut into your backplate to allow these to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for damaged or missing cassettes inside the backplates of door handles of numerous brands of uPVC doors. They are fitted with a square cut-out that allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and they are supplied individually.
These spring cassettes offer an excellent value solution for the issue of door handles that have become sagging. They are easy to fit and will increase the lifespan of your uPVC doors.
